The Fragrance of Summer: Sun, Fun, and Sunflowers

Summer is one of our favorite times of year and it is definitely in full swing here in the Alamo City. Summers in San Antonio are full of local markets, family friendly events, and warm summer nights by the pool. There are always plenty of fun activities in full bloom and it is the perfect time to see one of our favorite Texas wildflowers-the sunflower! Their bright petals, love for the sun, and happy demeanor make them the perfect mascot for our vibrant San Antonio summers and their earthy and subtle sweet fragrance reminds us that fall is just around the corner.

You can see these giant beauties all around the Texas hill country, in wildflower fields, and all along our Texas highways but if you want to get an up close and personal look at this wildflower, you can look no further than one of our local and longest standing markets, Trader's Village. A family favorite for over ten years, Traders Village market is a place for locals to buy, sell, trade, and connect with various vendors and artisans with a fun, family atmosphere. It is here that you can visit their 10-acre sunflower field complete with a maze and walking pathways to acquaint yourself with the various kinds of sunflowers.

Sunflowers in Texas begin blooming in May until late summer, but this attraction is set to close on July 3rd so be sure to grab your tickets soon. You can check out ticket information and visit their website here. If you can't make it to the sunflower fields or just want to take the fragrance of summer home with you, you can order one of our Giant Sunflower soy candles here or you can pick one up at one of our partnering locations in San Antonio, Texas listed below.

All of our candles are proudly hand poured here in San Antonio, Texas and you can find them and our other fine handmade fragrances on our website or at one of the following partnering locations:
